This legacy of excellence has produced world-class athletes, including Olympians like Kristina Koznick, Lindsey Vonn, Paula Moltzan, and many others. These champions represent the heart of our program, where elite-level training meets the spirit of resilience and teamwork.

decades of elite ski racing coaching
Established in 1965, the Buck Hill Ski Racing Team has a rich history of developing top-ranked ski racers who proudly call Buck Hill Ski Area in Burnsville, Minnesota, their home.
Under the leadership of Ski Hall of Fame coach Erich Sailer, Buck Hill transformed into a "Slalom Factory," where thousands of young skiers honed their skills. The program’s legacy includes Olympians, World Cup winners, USA Ski Team members, NCAA Champions, and countless nationally-ranked racers who began their journey at Buck Hill.
For decades, our athletes have had the benefit of exceptional training conditions, thanks to the Buck Hill Ski Area, which consistently prioritizes the team’s needs with state-of-the-art lift operations, snowmaking, and dedicated hill space. But perhaps the greatest asset of all has been the tremendous coaching staff that fosters a love for the sport and the pursuit of excellence.
Today, our program continues to evolve, keeping pace with the world’s leading ski racing programs. Our focus remains on values of effort, grit, and courage, while executing sport plans tailored to each age group’s training needs. The legacy of the "Slalom Factory" lives on as we continue to develop the next generation of champions.
